End of Day

I painted "Just Resting" during the annual plein air "Paint the Town" event held by Chestertown RiverArts in May. I especially like going down to the waterfront in this lovely and historic Eastern Shore town to see what I can find that appeals to me. I came upon this little sailboat in the early afternoon, but the light wasn't right. The little boat was still docked when evening brought some color to the water so I set up on the dock and painted it in good light. I especially liked the elegant curve of the hull on this little beauty.
